Overview
We are seeking a certified veterinary technician (CVT) to join Town & Country Animal Hospital in SE Portland, Oregon. This is a full-time position with a strong emphasis on education, mentorship, work-life balance, and comprehensive benefits. Town & Country Animal Hospital is a small AHAA Accredited, 2 DVM GP located near SE Division and 122nd. Base pay range : $25.00/hr - $35.00/hr CVT

Provide professional, efficient, high-quality medical care and exceptional service to clients while maintaining maximum productivity. Obtain patient medical history from clients and referring veterinarians as needed. Perform initial evaluation of a pet’s condition, gather information from the client, observe behavior, and check vital statistics. Assist the Veterinarian throughout examination, diagnosis, procedures, and treatment phases. Restrain pets during exams as needed. Create and maintain patient medical records and documentation. Obtain and prepare samples (blood, urine, fecal) for diagnostic testing; perform laboratory tests and update the medical chart. Educate clients about pet health needs, nutrition, and preventative care. Perform X-rays and provide results to the Veterinarian. Fill prescriptions under the direction of a Veterinarian. Administer injections, vaccines, and medications under supervision and direction of a Veterinarian. Perform dental prophylaxis, venipunctures, catheterization, and other procedures under supervision of a Veterinarian. Prepare patients, medications, and equipment for surgery. Support a collaborative, team-oriented practice environment and ensure the delivery of quality veterinary care to pets. Comply with all practice policies, quality assurance guidelines, and minimum standards of care. Perform other duties or projects as requested. Strong work ethic and professional demeanor; ability to multitask and pay attention to detail. Excellent telephone etiquette and open, direct communication. Ability to obtain patient history, perform examinations, and assist with diagnostic procedures under Veterinarian supervision. Willingness to learn and collaborate within a team. Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds occasionally and varying frequencies for patient handling. Benefits
