Overview We are seeking a Retirement Counselor to join Cetera Financial Group. The Retirement Counselor is responsible for developing, leading, and delivering employee enrollment and education meetings for retirement plan clients and their employees, both on-site at client locations and virtually. This role requires the ability to speak confidently in front of large groups and individuals in one-on-one settings, with knowledge of retirement plans and investment portfolios. The position includes leading program enhancements for presentations and participant education materials.

Core Responsibilities

Set and drive education programs for retirement plan clients – including 401(k), 403(b), and DB cash balance plans

Build and maintain strong relationships with plan sponsors and financial professionals

Serve as liaison between 3rd party partners (recordkeepers, third party administrators and financial professionals) and home office related to education programs

Plan and conduct enrollment and education meetings – both on-site and virtually

Prepare education programs and collateral

Drive plan participation and overall plan contributions through participant education solutions

Stay current with changing retirement plan rules and regulations

Differentiating Cetera’s retirement plan solutions to drive client retention

Assist the sales team with new business opportunities as needed

Cross-sell Cetera solutions and services

What you will have

Knowledge of IRS and DOL regulations relating to qualified retirement plans

FINRA Series 65 or 66 licensing preferred (or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment)

Client Relationship Management (CRM) software experience

Bachelor’s degree required in relevant field, or relevant experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in financial services industry

Travel:

Up to 50%

Compensation:

The base annual salary range for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 plus a competitive performance-based bonus. Base annual salary depends on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, years and depth of experience, certifications, and location. Base annual salary may also differ due to geography and cost of labor considerations.
