Overview
Medical Assistant II - Otolaryngology - 136280 at UC San Diego Health. This role supports clinic operations and patient care in the Otolaryngology department. Responsibilities
Under direct supervision of the clinic manager and general supervision of clinic providers and licensed nursing staff, perform patient care tasks with knowledge and training in line with the California business and profession code and Joint Commission regulations. Schedule patient appointments and manage associated patient system screens. Assist with accurate billing, environmental care functions, and equipment/supply management; clean and disinfect the clinical environment. Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology, online scheduling, universal precautions, and proper use of body mechanics. Exercise initiative, prioritize demands, and work effectively in a team environment. Perform other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR Certificate of completion from a Medical Assistant training program. BART or BLS certification at time of hire with commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months of hire date. Two (2) years of Certified Medical Assistant experience. Knowledge of medical terminology. Preferred Qualifications
Ability to be flexible with varying demands in a small specialty clinic. Teamwork oriented. Special Conditions
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs. Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical. Pay and Benefits
Appointment Type: Career, 100% appointment. Worksite: La Jolla. Payroll Title: MED AST 2. Filing Deadline: see posting (date may vary). Annual Full Pay Range: $52,847 - $65,772 (prorated if appointment percentage is less than 100%). Hourly Equivalent: $25.31 - $31.50.
