Overview
Radiology Tech Per Diem - Recon Ortho / Medford A licensed practitioner responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation to patients for diagnostic purposes. Performs a wide variety of radiologic procedures in accordance with established and approved protocols and standards. Operates radiographic equipment safely following ALARA guidelines. Supports the Virtua Mission and Values and upholds Virtua STAR behaviors. Adheres to all Virtua policies and procedures. Responsibilities
Performs radiologic procedures for all patient populations according to protocols established by the radiologist, applying radiation safety and protection at all times. Evaluates images with the goal of producing radiographic images of the highest diagnostic quality. Maintains thorough and accurate documentation. Obtains pertinent medical information prior to the procedure, reviews and verifies physicians’ orders, and documents correct side, LMP, etc. Demonstrates appropriate and effective use of radiographic equipment and computer systems (RIS, PACS, Web Viewer, ADW workstation, and other hospital systems). Provides instruction to and assists in training new staff or student radiologic technologists. Qualifications
Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Radiologic Technology. Registered or registry eligible by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). NJDEP licensure required. CPR certification preferred. Employment Details
