What You Will Do
Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Billing Department, managing a team responsible for full-cycle project-based invoicing across multiple locations.
Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant billing processes while upholding company policies, internal controls, and customer requirements.
Drive operational excellence by improving workflows, resolving billing delays, and increasing transparency across business units.
Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders (Branch Managers, Operations, Finance, and Accounting) to address discrepancies and ensure smooth, accurate invoice delivery.
Lead weekly billing meetings to align priorities, remove roadblocks, and ensure accountability within the billing team.
Identify process gaps and implement automation or standardization opportunities to increase efficiency and consistency.
Serve as the billing subject matter expert, supporting month-end close activities and reporting.
How You Are Qualified
Proven experience managing a billing or invoicing team in a dynamic, project-based services environment (environmental, construction, industrial services or similar preferred).
Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, coach, and hold a team accountable to high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables, XLOOKUP) and comfort working in ERP or other enterprise systems.
Strong understanding of project-based billing cycles, documentation, and client contract requirements.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills to partner effectively across departments.
A process-minded problem solver with a hands-on approach and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment where accuracy and speed are critical to the company’s success.
