Department Overview At Motorola Solutions we are helping solve some of the biggest challenges around safety and physical security by developing advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies and products that are used to help keep people, businesses, and cities around the world safer. Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company, designs, develops, and manufactures advanced AI, video analytics, network video management software and hardware, surveillance cameras, and access control solutions that help change the way people interact with their security systems.

Avigilon Alta (Formerly Openpath), a Motorola Solution's Company, is a leader within the access control industry. Our access control solution makes businesses more secure with multi-factor authentication, enables a contactless entry experience and can be easily scaled and managed due to its cloud-based architecture.

Responsibilities

Designing and developing highly reliable hardware for our internally-designed embedded systems as well as associated test harnesses and fixtures

Taking ownership of your designs including prototyping bring-up and verification.

Establish system and application requirements, and evaluate components and IC's for suitability in your design

Provide electrical design support throughout all product design phases, from conception to final mass production.

Work with internal and external teams to review specifications, schematics, and board layout.

Work with QA team to design, develop and execute test plans for life cycle, unit and regression testing

Work cross functionally with mobile, backend, hardware and firmware teams to develop new products and features

Work with customer support and other software teams as a technical resource for any customer issues and patch bugs as needed

Support internal and external manufacturing efforts for product quality control and bring up

Maintain a thorough understanding of the latest technology, trends, and techniques in electrical engineering

Exposure to antenna design and tuning

Comfortable hacking together firmware in a pinch

Qualifications

3+ years designing electronics for hardware

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering

Strong understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes

Not afraid to test and debug

Familiarity with Eagle

Results-oriented, dependable, and accountable

Willingness to work autonomously

Highly organized, can juggle competing priorities and tasks

Willing to learn and share your knowledge with others

Basic Requirements

Bachelor's Degree

2+ years of experience designing electronics, hardware, or firmware

Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.

This position is based in Culver City, CA and the candidate must reside in the Greater Los Angeles Area as you will be required to go into the office on a hybrid work schedule.

Compensation Target Base Salary Range: $90,000 - $120,000

Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
