Operational Excellence Senior Consultant
DuPont is seeking an Operational Excellence Senior Consultant to guide organizations through complex transformation initiatives, delivering advanced process improvements and embedding a culture of continuous improvement to enable sustainable business results. This role combines change management, Lean/Six Sigma expertise, and Industry 4.0 knowledge to help manufacturing sites optimize operational performance, enhance customer satisfaction, and drive long-term value.
This is an individual contributor role with no direct reports. Team members work onsite 3 days a week.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Process Analysis & Improvement: Lead end-to-end process assessments, mapping, and redesign using Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and Agile; identify bottlenecks and root causes and develop actionable recommendations that drive measurable improvements in productivity, quality, and cost.
Project Leadership: Manage multiple operational excellence projects, coordinate cross-functional teams and resources; develop project charters, define deliverables, manage timelines, and ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with senior leaders, middle management, and front-line employees to understand business needs, secure buy-in, and drive change adoption.
Change Management: Design and implement change management strategies, communication plans, and training programs to facilitate transitions and maximize adoption.
Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze complex data sets to inform recommendations and measure impact; present findings to diverse audiences.
Coaching & Capability Building: Mentor manufacturing teams in operational excellence tools and mindsets to foster a culture of continuous improvement and self-sufficiency.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and track KPIs, ensuring sustained results and identifying improvement opportunities.
Best Practice Sharing: Stay current with industry trends and disseminate knowledge across manufacturing sites and the Operational Excellence team.
Industry 4.0 & Digital Solution Delivery: Lead evaluation, implementation, and integration of smart manufacturing technologies, digital platforms, and advanced analytics; drive digital transformation to optimize processes and enable scalable outcomes.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.
10+ years of progressive experience in operational excellence, business process improvement, or management consulting.
Professional certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or equivalent methodologies.
Proven success leading large-scale transformation projects with measurable business results, via cross-functional collaboration.
Analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with proficiency in process mapping, data analytics, and visualization tools.
Ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences; strong interpersonal and facilitation skills.
Experience building collaborative relationships across organizational levels; ability to manage competing priorities in fast-paced environments.
Knowledge of digital tools (e.g., Microsoft 365) and experience with transformational initiatives.
Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts and digital automation strategies; knowledge of regulatory compliance and risk management.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
Preferred
Black Belt certification.
