POSITION: Sr. Trial Court Staff Attorney Position Number 012377

LOCATION: TBD - Remote Eligible Position also travels to other locations within the Judicial Circuit and must be available for onsite training.

SALARY: $76,040.16 annually ($64,999.44 if less than 5 years experience) Full-Time; Benefits Package Available; FRS Retirement

General Description The essential function of the position within the organization is to assist the judiciary with case management, pending litigation, processing of criminal and civil appeals, and a variety of issues. The assigned work involves considerable interpretation and judgment of legal issues in the area(s) of criminal, civil, appellate, and/or administrative law. The position is responsible for drafting memoranda, opinions, orders, and conducting legal research; reviewing briefs and case files; and advising judges on pending litigation. This position works under the supervision of the Supervising Trial Court Staff Attorney.

Education, Experience, Certifications and Special Requirements Education –

Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school required. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for the recommended educational level on a year-for-year basis.

Experience –

Five years of work experience in the practice of law or as a law clerk in an appellate or trial court.

Certification and Special Requirements –

Requires membership in Good Standing in the Florida Bar within one year of hire. Valid Florida Driver’s License required.
