Description

The Department of Music at Hofstra University invites applications for two Assistant Adjunct Professors in Music Technology for Fall 2025. The department teaches MUST 100, introducing foundational tools and techniques of modern music production, focusing on Logic Pro and Pro Tools. Courses emphasize hands-on projects in audio recording, editing, mixing, and sound design, with projects that integrate sound design with recording and mixing processes using Logic Pro and Pro Tools as creative production environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Music, Music Technology, Audio Engineering, or a closely related field; Demonstrated working knowledge of Logic Pro and Pro Tools; Practical experience in music production, recording, or sound design.

Preferred Qualifications Summary

Master’s degree in Music Technology, Sound Design, Composition, or a related field; Experience teaching at the college or university level; A strong professional portfolio in music production, engineering, or sound design; Familiarity with synthesis, MIDI programming, and audio mixing in educational or professional environments.
