Position Overview: The Vice President, Merchandising role is based in our home office in Austin, TX, and oversees the merchandising team. Ultimately, our job is to get the right products to the right stores, allowing their business to thrive. We know the customer and therefore we know our stores. Our customer is BOSS, so we are constantly identifying ways to support them with the best Kendra Scott products possible. This role interacts closely with all SLT members and is responsible for partnerships on product strategies as well as managing in-season performance. The VP of Merchandising has frequent interaction with Kendra Scott and other members of executive leadership. This role requires creating thinking, organizational agility, and driving results from an incredibly talented team with the product always at the forefront. Responsibilities
Manage a growing team of 3-5 direct reports within the merchandising space Drives product strategy and vision and pivots as needed seasonally to achieve financial goals Coordinates with the executive team to define corporate-level objectives and actions within MPA and CF Teams Partners with Design on future product vision, business planning, and opportunity sizing Partner daily with the VP of Design and VP of Production on execution of product strategies Responsible for pricing, editing, assorting, and clustering global product assortments – right product / right network Lead internal 360 communication with CFTs gaining buy-in on product initiatives and buying strategies Share product performance, trends, and insights with broader organization Chase ongoing product opportunities to drive the business Approve markdowns and off-price opportunities Partner on the budget planning process and Board Meetings Partner with allocation on channel distribution strategy, ensuring buy strategy and priority items are supported Grow and develop an incredibly bright team of merchants Our Ideal Candidate Will Have
An entrepreneurial mindset - experience working for a founder-led organization Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience leading a merchandising team at the executive level 10+ years’ experience as a Senior Director and/or VP for a high-growth fashion brand, with Fashion Accessories experience A proven ability to define and inspire others to achieve corporate objectives and strategies, and a strong understanding of the Kendra Scott aesthetic and ability to influence and drive product strategies Strong ability to anticipate long-term needs and develop plans with achievable timelines A solutions-oriented mentality with a data-driven approach A growth mindset: track record of leveraging past learnings, demonstrates entrepreneurial spirit, always imagining what’s possible Proven ability to build cross-functional partnerships to ensure corporate alignment Strong executive presence with the capability to compel and inspire internal and external audiences High commitment to employee growth and development: track record of empowering and inspiring teams, as well as having a significant impact on others’ career growth and development A shared appreciation for our 3 core values of Family, Fashion, and Philanthropy We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
