Overview Process Development Sr Scientist role at BioSpace – join Amgen’s mission of serving patients. This role contributes to early formulation development and physicochemical characterization with a focus on chemical stability to advance preclinical and clinical development programs. You will support regulatory filings and Amgen’s intellectual property and may participate with Discovery Research and Early Development teams as needed.

What You Will Do

Evaluate drug candidate stability, structural elucidation, and identify degradation pathways.

Assess synthetic molecules (developability) and provide preclinical formulation support.

Support lead optimization and form selection to meet the target product profile.

Apply in silico and in vitro models to support molecule and biopharmaceutical assessments and identify development strategies.

Coordinate with team members and external partners to meet tasks and milestones.

Assist the project team lead in authoring technical reports and CMC sections in regulatory documents.

Apply continuous improvement practices to enhance laboratory efficiency.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of scientific experience OR

Master’s degree with 3+ years of scientific experience OR

Doctorate (PhD) or PharmD or MD with relevant post-doc where applicable

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate (PhD or PharmD) with 2+ years post-PhD in Pharmaceutics, Pharmacy, Chemistry or related field

Experience in synthetic, mechanistic, or physical organic chemistry and structural elucidation

Strong understanding of Mass Spectrometry or LC-MS

Experience in preformulation techniques including HPLC analysis and physicochemical evaluation with solid-state characterization

Experience in chemical kinetics, pharmacokinetics or biopharmaceutical modeling

Ability to take initiative, work independently, and be flexible

Experience in liquid dosage forms for synthetics

Ability to integrate automation and data science approaches to enhance workflows

Proficiency with instrumentation platforms and data management systems

Experience applying statistical analysis and data visualization tools

Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and cross-functional skills

Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
