Project Manager, Physical Security
Las Vegas or Reno, NV (Onsite)
The Physical Security Project Manager is responsible for the end‑to‑end delivery of physical security capital projects across our client's facilities, including substations, generation sites, operations centers, and general offices throughout Nevada. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. The position requires strong leadership in coordinating design, procurement, construction, and implementation of physical security systems.
Responsibilities
Lead the development and execution of physical security project plans, including defining scope, budget, schedule, and resource requirements.
Develop and maintain design documentation, cost estimates, cash flows, and project approvals aligned with company standards.
Partner with internal teams such as engineering, substation design, operations, and standards to define project scope, evaluate alternatives, and secure final approval.
Coordinate procurement, negotiation, and administration of construction contracts with general contractors, security integrators, and consultants.
Manage day‑to‑day project activities, including tracking performance, safety, schedule adherence, cost control, and quality outcomes.
Prepare formal proposals for hardware and software purchases, participate in vendor negotiations, and manage system provisioning, support, and training.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal controls, and applicable codes and policies.
Oversee project closeout, including acceptance testing, financial reconciliation, and completion of final project reports.
Collaborate cross‑functionally to resolve project challenges and communicate progress to stakeholders.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of two years of project management and/or security‑related construction experience.
In lieu of a degree, four or more years of project management experience will be considered.
Knowledge of construction project management practices, including scheduling, budgeting, and contract administration.
Experience with physical security or telecommunications systems in critical infrastructure environments.
Understanding of applicable permitting, compliance, and regulatory requirements such as NERC CIP or similar frameworks.
Technical proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), project management software (Microsoft Project, Primavera P6), and document collaboration tools (SharePoint, Teams).
Ability to review design drawings using AutoCAD or similar platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience designing and implementing physical security technologies such as surveillance, access control, and perimeter detection systems.
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to guide cross‑functional project teams.
Proven ability to deliver capital projects on time and within budget.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentations and reporting.
Skilled in negotiation, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining high quality and compliance standards.
