Project Engineer - Electrical Safety, Duluth, GA. Intertek, a Nationally Recognized Testing Lab (NRTL) and leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is actively seeking a Project Engineer to join our Electrical team in Duluth, GA. Intertek’s Electrical business line applies more than 100 years of product testing expertise to help clients meet safety, performance, environmental and quality requirements for every market. What you’ll do
Read and determine applicability of national codes and standards clauses for the EUT (equipment under test). Perform testing of products in accordance with standards. Core tests include, but are not limited to: rating, leakage current, dielectric, temperature, pressure, stability, mechanical hazard, flammability, abnormal and fault insurance, rain, radiation, sound, and laser. Mentor less senior technical personnel. Provide information for quotes such as length of project, site requirements, rental equipment, samples, and standards that will be used. Set up and operate standard test equipment including, but not limited to: spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope, multi-meter, dielectric strength tester, ground continuity tester, digital multi-meter, surge generator, over-voltage tester, environmental condition chamber, and articulated probes. Build and calibrate test fixtures using hand tools. Follow sample handling procedures, log samples in and out of the system, move equipment as needed through the facility, and properly package samples for shipment. Provide sales support by attending client visits as needed. Communicate project status and test results to clients, sales personnel, and management throughout testing. Provide ongoing client support as needed. Perform other duties as required. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a directly related field. Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines. Detail-oriented with effective time management and workload prioritization. Ability to communicate effectively in verbal, written and presentation formats. Customer focused and quality driven. Ability to travel as business needs dictate, up to 25%. Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record. Applicants will be required to complete an I-9 to verify eligibility to work in the U.S. Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States. Preferred Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering. Engineer in Training (EIT). Prior project management experience. Experience with U.S., Canadian, and other international product safety standards (e.g., ANSI, CSA, UL, EN, IEC). Intertek Total Quality Assured
