Overview Base pay range: $50.00/yr - $75.00/yr. This range is provided by CSA Group, Architects and Engineers. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

This position is on site in Albany, New York.

Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day construction monitoring and detailed inspections for Electrical (Power, Backup Power, and Fire Alarm) verifying adherence to plans, specifications, standards, and codes.

Prepare and maintain comprehensive daily inspection reports, Inspector Daily Reports (IDRs), photographs, field books/diaries, sketches, and record drawings.

Review and process contractor submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, change-order proposals, and contract-claim documentation; conduct change-order and delay-analysis using CPM methods.

Document and analyze time-and-material and unit-price work; review payment applications and provide recommendations for adjustments.

Enforce safety procedures (OSHA-30, fall protection, confined-space entry, work-zone requirements); issue noncompliance notices or suspend work for life-threatening safety violations after consultation with supervisors.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Accredited University.

5 years of experience in electrical engineering, laboratories, healthcare, pharmaceutical facilities, and research and development (R&D).

Valid Class C (or equivalent) driver’s license.

OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety certification.

Knowledge of construction inspection procedures, familiarity with laboratory, healthcare, and Pharmaceutical (research and development) projects.

Ability to read, interpret, and enforce plans, specifications, design manuals, codes, and regulatory requirements.

Proficiency in contract administration: submittals, RFIs, change-orders, claims, and payment application review.

Skilled in preparing clear, concise written reports, sketches, and photographic records.

Good oral and written communication; ability to lead meetings and coordinate among diverse stakeholders.

Capacity to identify constructability issues, recommend corrective actions, and promote efficient project delivery.
