Overview The Backend Software Engineer II is part of the Corporate Data and Analytics team and serves as an independent contributor. The role focuses on developing moderately complex backend features and services, taking ownership of small modules, engaging in design discussions, and mentoring junior engineers. Collaboration with various teams ensures delivery of high-quality, production-ready software. This position is on-site in Appleton with in-office expectations Monday through Thursday and remote work optional on Fridays as business needs allow.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with product managers, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver quality backend solutions.
Design and implement moderately complex backend features, APIs, and services utilizing .NET Core.
Take ownership of small modules or components, ensuring they are maintainable, reliable, and easily testable.
Engage in technical design discussions, provide input, and suggest alternative solutions.
Mentor junior engineers and interns through constructive guidance and thoughtful reviews.
Conduct code reviews to help maintain high standards and overall quality.

Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
2+ years of backend software engineering experience.
Proficiency with .NET Core, C#, REST APIs, and relational databases.
Ability to design, code, test, and debug independently.
Preferred:
Familiarity with microservices architecture.
Experience with cloud services (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
