Giant Skull is an independent game studio on a mission to craft unforgettable single-player, gameplay-driven action‑adventures in rich, immersive worlds. The Role As a
Senior Content Designer , you’ll craft experiences that players will remember, creating moments that blend narrative, combat, and exploration. You’ll design and implement content and systems that bring our world to life, collaborating across disciplines to ensure every moment feels immersive and great to play. You’ll bring ideas from pitch to polish, while driving quality, clarity, and creativity to help push our design craft forward.
Impact and Ownership
You will work closely with the Game Director, Design Director, Lead Content Designer and other departments to brainstorm, design, and implement content and content systems.
You will pitch, prototype, and create a variety of features to help create an exceptional player experience, including combat encounters, narrative moments, and design systems with a focus on game feel.
You will collaborate across disciplines, working closely with Level Design, Art, and Narrative to help concept and create levels that combine traversal, puzzle solving, combat, and narrative delivery for a unique and cohesive player experience.
You will design and own content and content systems from conception to the final stages of polish, facilitating communication and coordination across related departments.
You will lead by example and help motivate, develop, and mentor junior designers.
You will push to constantly raise the quality bar, develop solutions, streamline processes, and work cross-functionally with other departments.
Qualifications
You have 5+ years of experience in game design, ideally with at least one shipped title.
You are competent with Unreal Blueprints, and may have experience with Angelscript.
You bring a diverse set of skills that you will employ to create and manage narrative and combat content, quests, and assist in level design with a focus on game feel, flow, and balance.
You understand how to balance design goals with technical constraints and scope.
You are able to help concept, build and improve content systems, including back end structure and player and designer facing UI/UX.
You are a proactive problem solver who brings clarity to ambiguous challenges and proposes solutions grounded in both creative vision and production reality.
You are highly collaborative with the ability to work directly with art, code, animation, and other design departments.
D&D Dungeon Master experience is a plus. We would love to see things you personally created.

For this position, our target base salary range is 115k - 175k. Ranges may expand based on experience and location.
