ABOUT THE POSITION The Marketing Manager plays a pivotal role in project-managing multiple strategic campaigns for Village Theatre’s year-round calendar of Mainstage productions and Youth Education programs, with emphasis on content creation and digital channel management. This position is ideal for an emerging arts marketing professional who thrives in a dynamic, nimble, collaborative environment. The Marketing Manager supports all Mainstage production campaigns through project management (approximately 60% of work); leads marketing campaigns for Youth Education programs and productions (20%); helps steward Village Theatre’s digital channels (15%); and processes invoices for marketing-related expenses (5%).

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Mainstage Project Management

(approximately 60% of work)

Manage the timely completion of all phases of asset creation (workback plans, trafficking design revisions, executive reviews, vendor estimates and timelines) and maintain cross-departmental communication.

Collaborate with marketing director, designers, artistic/production colleagues, and artists to create assets with brand alignment and quality.

Coordinate with videographers, photographers, media buyers, and print vendors to ensure on-budget, timely delivery of campaign materials.

Create digital assets that convey the right message to the right audience at the right time using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro and Canva.

Compile post-show marketing analyses collecting data from the marketing team.

Work evenings and weekends as needed to support openings and events.

Other duties as assigned.

Youth Education Campaign Leadership

(approximately 20% of work)

In collaboration with the Directors, craft and execute segmented marketing strategies for KIDSTAGE classes/camps and Village Theatre Institute programs.

Project manage asset library creation and digital content for KIDSTAGE productions.

Manage asset creation timelines, monitor performance, and adjust tactics to optimize engagement.

Collaborate across departments and with Youth Education students to promote programs.

Coordinate with external partners to ensure on-budget and timely delivery.

Attend rehearsals, opening nights, and family events as required.

Digital Channel Stewardship

(approximately 15% of work)

Provide monthly updates on digital channel performance (email, social, etc.).

Engage with patrons on social media, respond to inquiries, and flag sensitive issues.

Create social media posts for institutional messaging (auditions, staff announcements, open positions, etc.).

Monitor trends and suggest opportunities aligned with brand strategy.

Review internal content ideas and bring suggestions to the marketing team.

Payment Request Creation/Expense Tracking

(approximately 5% of work)

Track marketing-related expenses and create payment requests for Finance.

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

3+ years of experience in marketing/communications (theater or performing arts preferred) with emphasis on content creation and digital channels.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a high-volume environment; agency experience is a plus.

Proficient copywriting and intermediate video editing skills for digital channels.

Self-motivated, efficient, meticulous with accuracy.

Strong interpersonal engagement and relationship-building with internal and external stakeholders.

Proficiency with or ability to learn marketing software (Asana, Adobe Creative Suite, Meta Business Suite, Dotdigital, MS Office).

Experience with CRM systems such as Spektrix or ability to learn them; database work experience a plus.

COMPENSATION

Hourly for this position is $28-$30. Village Theatre offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, prescription, dental & vision insurance; 403(b) retirement plan with employer match; paid vacation, holidays, and sick time; flexible spending account; life and AD&D insurance. Additional information such as waiting periods and premium rates will be provided to final candidates.
