Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. You will have the opportunity to impact patient care while enjoying competitive pay and benefits. Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data to detect abnormalities and respond appropriately Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care Prepares equipment and assists physicians during cardiac-related procedures and examinations Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of status and response to interventions Responds to life-saving situations according to nursing standards, policies, procedures, and cardiac protocol Documents nursing history and physical assessments for telemetry patients Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health, risk factors, and lifestyle modifications Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive telemetry patient care Maintains patient and client confidentiality Performs other duties within the scope of practice Adheres to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Required Qualifications
One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC) Preferred Qualifications
Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification NIHSS Certification Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Summary
A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care. Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and interpersonal communication Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; basic computer skills Physical ability to remain stationary and to move, lift (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to collaborate with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and operate equipment Mental proficiency to work under deadlines and supervision as needed Sensory ability to visualize and communicate effectively Benefits Include
