AHMG Electrophysiology Physician Assistant - Port Charlotte Location: 2500 Harbor Blvd Port Charlotte FL, 33952 The community you'll be caring for: AdventHealth Medical Group Responsibilities
Provides medical care to patients under the supervision of a physician. Conducts physical examinations, orders and interprets diagnostic tests. Works closely with physicians to develop and implement treatment plans for patients. Educates patients and their families about healthcare issues, disease management, and preventive care. Evaluates, diagnoses, treats, and manages a wide range of medical conditions. Prescribes medications, develops patient treatment options, interprets and verifies test results, and collaborates with other healthcare providers for continued education to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care. Examine patients, take medical histories, maintain patient records, identify health risk factors, prescribe medications, make referrals, and otherwise treat health conditions. Focus on patient wellness and disease prevention. Provide health education services and/or counsel patients on how to make healthy lifestyle choices. Will need to work weekdays, occasional weekends and nights for call coverage. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards. Qualifications
Knowledge and skills required (KSAs): The PA's role, scope of practice, and legal requirements; provider's specialty area as it applies to Occupational Medicine; scope of prescriptive and dispensing authority; medical terminology; laboratory practices and procedures; occupational practice principles; anatomy and physiology; communicable diseases and their control and treatment; physical assessment and analysis; problem solving and documentation; initiating appropriate emergency response; performing or ordering and interpreting routine diagnostic laboratory tests; working with diverse individuals and cultures; handling multiple tasks; translating health information to patients; assisting or consulting with physicians; recognizing signs and symptoms of disease and their relationships; obtaining, organizing, and constructing a patient database; developing a problem list; applying problem-solving techniques to clinical situations; managing common health problems with physician supervision; communicating empathetically with patients and knowledgeably with the physician; performing technical procedures; obtaining patient histories emphasizing occupation and exposure; performing complete or focused physical examinations; selecting appropriate diagnostic studies; identifying relationships between symptoms and occupational/environmental exposures; diagnosing and managing occupational/environmental illnesses and injuries with consultant support when indicated.
