Lead MRI Technologist Full Time Days

Detroit Medical Center Location: Detroit, Michigan. Facility: DMC Sinai-Grace Hospital. Job Type: Full Time. Shift Type: Day. Summary Description Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, functions as a lead or resource person for personnel involved in MRI procedures, in addition to performing MRI Technologist duties as required. Coordinates the flow of work, delegates, oversees and guides staff in carrying out their respective duties. Follows up on activities of MRI Technologists or assigned personnel, resolves routine and complex problems and ensures that department is operating in a safe and efficient manner. Monitors the quantity and quality of work flow to ensure work is completed. Ensures that prescribed diagnostic procedures are performed according to department standards. Recommends personnel actions by providing input for performance appraisals, hiring decisions and progressive disciplines up to termination of employment. Assists with monitoring performance improvement plans. Has the responsibility for scheduling of and timekeeping for MRI technologists. Able to take call/standby as required by the department. Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JC requirements and DMC policies. As directed, implements external and internal audit recommendations. Minimum Qualifications
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT). Required to have or successfully complete American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training by end of orientation period. Two or more years of progressively more responsible MRI Technologist work experience. Skills Required
Analytical and clinical skills to determine age-appropriate methods for radiographs based on patient ability and limitations. Interpersonal and communication skills to instruct patients under stress; ability to follow physicians’ requests and work in a culturally diverse environment. Technical knowledge to operate imaging equipment and related computers. Ability to work productively in a complex environment with changing priorities. Knowledge of American College of Radiology requirements for accreditation. Physical stamina for walking, standing, lifting and positioning patients; ability to stand, bend, push, pull, reach and lift as needed for patient care. Manual dexterity and visual acuity to operate imaging equipment and produce diagnostic-quality images. Additional Core Skills
Gather and interpret data to identify discrepancies or issues and determine methods to ensure compliance with departmental policies. Use discretion in communication and provide conflict resolution within the department; diplomacy, tact and listening skills.
