Overview

This position is responsible for providing architectural leadership and decision‑making on the “Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)” implementation strategic program. The successful candidate will ensure alignment of solution design, delivery, and governance across work‑streams, managing dependencies and escalating risks that affect the broader transformation initiative. This resource will be part of the Solution Architecture team within the Application Architecture and Reliability Tower of the Digital Grid Operation Organization. The role requires strong communication and analytical skills. Additionally, this position works cooperatively with a team to develop concepts, strategies, and tactical processes within changing grid operations and landscapes. Key Roles & Responsibilities

Align Architecture Activities:

Coordinate architecture activities across related projects to ensure consistency and alignment with enterprise and domain guidance. Translate Guidance into Execution:

Translate enterprise and domain guidance into coordinated execution, ensuring that solution design, delivery, and governance are aligned across work‑streams. Ensure Consistency:

Ensure consistency of High‑Level Design (HLD) and Low‑Level Design (LLD) across work‑streams, mitigating cross‑project design conflicts. Track Technical Risk and Design Debt:

Track technical risk and design debt at the program level, identifying and escalating risks that affect the broader transformation initiative. Maintain Program Architecture Plan:

Maintain a Program Architecture Plan that maps solution blueprints to enterprise principles. ARB Escalations:

Serve as the point of contact for Architecture Review Board (ARB) escalations from multiple Solution Architects. Architecture Repository Updates:

Ensure updates to architecture repositories reflect the aggregate learning from the program. Subject Matter Expert:

Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on “ADMS” from an architectural, solution, & design perspective for the entire program and be able to represent architectural, solution, & design decisions at the program level. Collaborate with Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and Technical Staff to ensure that system designs, solutions, and processes align with and support Enterprise Architecture. Shape the solution Architecture roadmap through the application of technology, domain/program, industry, and organizational capability expertise. Drive implementation of large‑scale enterprise programs, ensuring alignment between Architecture and program objectives. Program Architect Responsibilities

Participate in the Architecture Review Board (ARB), including: Participate in the discussion and approval of all projects, procedures, and policies presented to the ARB. Represent all the program‑related architectural solutions in ARB Participate in Enterprise Solution Review Board Ensure that proposed solutions align with Enterprise Architecture Strategies Speak to the collaborative design of the solution and key decisions made for the design. Work with various Oncor Technology Organizations to produce and plan the Enterprise/Solution Architecture Strategies & Guidelines for areas including, but not limited to: Application Development (Cloud and On‑premises Applications) Customer off‑the‑shelf application implementation and upgrades Design systems in serverless computing models, microservices & Service Oriented Architectures (SOA) Design application data models and perform reviews of Solution Architecture artifacts Containerization Platforms (Includes OpenShift on AWS, Azure & IBM Cloud etc.) Cloud Storage Components (Relational, Non‑Relational & Object Storage) Cloud Security Components (Security Policy Enforcements, IAM, Identity Federation etc.) Create and/or validate the cloud‑based elements of a design for projects on which a fellow Architect is the primary architect. Participate in vendor and product selection process on cloud‑focused and non‑cloud‑focused initiatives. Participate in the Technology Strategy team Product Roadmap Initiative by providing recommendations for new products, consolidation, prioritization, decommission, implementation timing, and dependencies. For assigned Program & efforts: Integrate with technology capability project teams to: Assist with high‑level and low‑level designs Ensure architecture guidelines & policies are followed Ensure industry best practices are followed Ensure regulatory, legal or policy requirements are followed Formulate acceptable processes and use cases Ensure solution will deliver all functional & non‑functional requirements Ensure solution allows Oncor to remain cyber safe & secure Validate design vs. as‑built architecture at the completion of projects Participate in the open form discussions around IT Security (especially on Cloud Security) regarding the changing threat landscape, evaluate risk, and provide recommended changes to defense postures. Experience in the electrical utility industry Experience in Distribution and Outage management system Experience, Qualifications, & Skill Requirements

Minimum 10 or more years’ experience in IT Application Development Minimum 7 years of experience in architecting applications and solutions Minimum 3 years of experience as a Lead Architect in complex projects Minimum 5 years of experience in managing IT Architectural teams Minimum 3+ years of experience in architecting ADMS solution Advanced understanding of application development, source code management & DevOps practices Great communication and interpersonal skills Strong working knowledge of IT risks, cyber security, and computer operating software Candidates should have excellent documentation, presentation, and mentoring skills Seniority level
