Uncrewed Systems (UxS) , a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software. HII creates advanced unmanned solutions for defense, marine research and commercial applications. Our team delivers design, autonomy, manufacturing, testing, operations and sustainment of unmanned systems, including UUVs and USVs. The electrical engineering role supports the development of capabilities for integration into autonomous systems for USVs, including energy, navigation, propulsion, sensor and control subsystems, as well as launch and recovery systems. The electrical engineer contributes to product lifecycle analysis and the development and management of technical data packages, supporting activity from first article release through test, integration, delivery to manufacturing, and ongoing manufacturing support. Responsibilities

Support the design and documentation of electrical system wiring diagrams and cable assemblies for new development, production, and sustaining efforts. Support the manufacturing team on production issues relating to hardware, wiring, cabling, drawings, or other design aspects. Demonstrate proficiency with industry design tools such as OrCAD. Support PC board layout and electrical hardware design implementation. Work as part of a multi-discipline team and communicate designs and issues to each corresponding department. Assist in the design of electrical & electronics systems, firmware coding and circuit simulation. Assist in the design and fabrication of test fixtures and prototype designs. Develop electrical test procedures for new circuit boards and various types of assemblies and subassemblies. Maintain accurate bills of materials, update design documents, process sheets and incorporate Engineering Changes. Assist in electrical and electronics equivalent components research to resolve manufacturer or material shortages. Assist in the development of engineering estimates and proposals. Perform project management duties as assigned. Travel to offsite and possibly overseas locations, as required. What you will be doing

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, software systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes. What We Are Looking For

5 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's in related field; 3 years relevant experience with a Master's in related field; or 0 years experience with a PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field. Marine electrical system and power distribution design experience. Experience with development of electrical system design documentation including block diagrams, wiring diagrams, electrical cable assembly/wiring harness drawings. Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance. Bonus Points for

Experience with OrCAD for electrical designs Experience with Programmable Logic Controllers; Siemens a plus Experience working in multi-disciplinary product development teams, including technical leadership of small projects Experience architecting platform electrical and power systems Experience working with cybersecurity products Familiar with marine systems that include hardware and software components developed and produced for DoD use Demonstrates attention to detail and develops and maintains accurate documentation Physical Requirements
