Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Architect and oversee deployment of cloud infrastructure and services to support enterprise applications and workloads.
Drive automation, IaC, and CI/CD practices to improve deployment speed and reliability.
Collaborate with Cloud Security Engineering, DevOps, and Application teams to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient cloud environments.
Manage cloud cost optimization strategies and monitor usage for efficient resource allocation.
Evaluate and implement new cloud technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
Develop and maintain documentation, standards, and governance for cloud operations.
Provide technical guidance and escalation support for complex cloud-related issues.
Ensure business continuity infrastructure is operational and meeting business requirements.
Diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure problems; respond to critical system availability alerts.
Track industry trends and maintain knowledge of new technologies to better serve engineering needs.
Mentor and transfer knowledge to team members; ensure infrastructure meets compliance and security standards through audits.
Participate in On-Call rotation and be available after hours for critical systems maintenance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience with one or more major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Strong knowledge of cloud networking, security, containerization (Kubernetes, Docker), and automation tools (Pulumi, Terraform, Ansible, etc.).
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience in hybrid cloud environments and cloud migration projects.
Familiarity with FinOps practices and cloud cost management tools.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001).
Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch).
Location: New York, NY; Travel: as required. The successful candidate is expected to work in one of our offices 3 days per week.
Salary Range:
$77,762.70 - $180,082.10 USD
