Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a NICU RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Santa Maria, California. The RN will provide specialized care to critically ill and premature newborns in a NICU, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and support family-centered education while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Facility in Santa Maria, California Responsibilities

Assess and monitor critically ill and premature newborns, identify changes, document conditions and responses Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with neonatal nursing techniques Perform neonatal assessments, including vital signs, weight checks, and specialized neonatal screenings Operate and manage advanced NICU equipment (ventilators, CPAP, infusion pumps) and ensure proper functionality Assist with life-saving and diagnostic neonatal procedures, including umbilical line placement and intubation Educate and support parents on neonatal care, including feeding techniques and developmental care Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and procedures Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team Adhere to infection control measures, PPE use, and sterilization protocols Collaborate with neonatologists and therapists to optimize neonatal outcomes Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice Adhere to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards Qualifications

Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a neonatal intensive care RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification Preferred Qualifications Neonatal Intensive Care Nursing Certification (RNC-NIC) PALS (AHA/ARC) or ENPC Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Skills

Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills Ability to read, write, and communicate in English Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills Physical abilities to remain stationary, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend Interpersonal skills to work effectively with a variety of personnel Technical/motor skills for handling procedures and department equipment Mental requirements to cope with deadlines under pressure and occasional supervision Sensory — visual acuity and effective communication Benefits
