The primary function of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering Department is to provide educational programs leading to BS, MS and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering. The administrative unit provides support to the education and research programs that reside in the department. The Department offers opportunities for professional growth, a collaborative atmosphere of multidisciplinary research and innovative teaching, and strong ties to the Golden LEAF Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center (BTEC). It is integrated within the Research Triangle area. NC State is located in Raleigh. The Department seeks qualified candidates to fill multiple tenure-track and/or tenured faculty positions. Areas of emphasis include biomanufacturing and engineering life sciences, energy and sustainability, materials, and data and computational engineering, with emphasis on integration of AI technology. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in chemical engineering or a closely related field with a demonstrated record of excellence. Applications encouraged in biomanufacturing, energy and sustainability, semiconductor manufacturing. Teach undergraduate and/or graduate core courses in AI, chemical engineering, and biomanufacturing, as appropriate. Develop and lead an externally funded research program, including collaborative and interdisciplinary work. Establish a national or international reputation in research. Serve on departmental, college, and University committees. Engage in external professional service. Successful candidates are expected to establish dynamic, externally funded research programs of international reputation, teach at undergraduate- and graduate-level courses, and perform service.
