Overview
Precoat Metals is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to join a fast-paced environment, managing projects and developing cost-effective manufacturing solutions on existing and new process lines to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost savings. The role offers growth opportunities and real-world impact across production and plant success. Responsibilities
Provides sound engineering principles for the implementation of new manufacturing equipment, processes and procedures. Studies and recommends techniques to improve existing equipment and processes. Coordinates design activities and installations with other departments. Provides process line technical support including investigating improvement opportunities, troubleshooting equipment, and addressing operator inquiries as requested. Completes engineering calculations to validate the implementation of new equipment or processes. Represents engineering department on cross-functional teams. Prepares specifications for equipment and installation and secures bids from suppliers and contractors. Analyzes equipment and contractor installation specifications. Prepares layout and design drawings as required. Requisitions material and equipment for capital projects. Plans, schedules and supervises construction activities and participates in startup and evaluation of new equipment. Prepares progress reports on capital projects. Maintains engineering documentation including project files, datasheets, drawings, schematics, and revisions. Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering degree. 5+ years of experience in process or manufacturing engineering. Process and operations knowledge. Excellent computer hardware and software applications knowledge. Data-driven decision making; effective use of process automation tools and IT. Thorough and organized; confident and steady under pressure. Manufacturing Methods and Procedure knowledge. Must be able to travel up to 25% and be available to travel significantly while on larger projects. Additional Information We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
