Base pay range $38,250.00/yr - $43,347.00/yr Are you determined to make the biggest positive impact you can on issues like climate change and clean water, but you don’t know where to start? The Green Corps Campaigner program is a four-month crash course, combining classroom training and work on an environmental campaign, that can introduce you to the field of environmental advocacy and organizing.
Responsibilities Receive one to two weeks of classroom training to learn the basic skills of environmental organizing, including recruiting and training volunteers, organizing events, gaining media coverage, and more.
Run one campaign to apply these skills on a pressing environmental issue. You will identify and train activists and volunteers, build community support, secure media coverage, and work toward policy changes to protect the environment. Relocation is required as Campaigners must be geographically flexible to work on campaigns where they’re needed most.
Gain skills and experiences to make an impact. At the end of the four-month position, top candidates may be considered for opportunities for advancement and additional training within the Green Corps Organizer program or for recommendations to the broader environmental and social change movement.
Demonstrate discretion and independent judgment in matters of significance.
Qualifications A passion for protecting the environment and an interest in dedicating your career to environmental work
Strong communication skills, including writing, public speaking, and working with others one-on-one and in groups
Leadership experience on campus or in the community
Strong work ethic and dedication to goals, with flexibility to adjust plans when a rapidly-moving campaign changes
An interest in a short-term position to learn the basics of environmental organizing while making a difference on a critical campaign
Compensation and Benefits
This position is approximately 4 months. Pay and benefits are prorated for the length of the campaign position, based on the target annual package: The target annual compensation is $38,250 (range $38,250 to $43,347 depending on location and start date). Benefits include medical insurance for employees and dependents after 90 days on staff, paid sick time (60-80 hours/year depending on location, prorated for the length of the campaign), and a commuter benefit program. Training and opportunities for advancement are also offered.
Start Date and Location
Next Green Corps Campaigner class starts in January 2026. Campaigners may work on campaigns across the country; location preferences are considered for placements, but all Campaigners must be geographically flexible. See our year-long Organizer program starting in August 2026 for more information.
