Overview
Electrical Engineer I-Power Systems – Location: Joint Base Lewis McChord (JBLM). CLP Engineering is seeking an Electrical Engineer I with a power systems emphasis/interest to join our team at JBLM. Due to the nature of our work as a Federal Contractor, candidates must be a US citizen.
Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in designing sub-transmission systems, substations, switching stations, and commercial/industrial power distribution systems.
Develop concept design alternatives, engineering calculations, analysis, and engineering estimates for small-scale system improvement projects for substations and distribution systems.
Assist Lead Engineers with major capital upgrade projects: site visits, engineering calculations, drawings, drafting, field inspections, technical report writing, etc.
Perform site surveys for new utility service requests, develop concept design alternatives and present the alternatives to CLPE management and the customer.
Create, update, and maintain GIS database for large-scale electrical distribution systems
Analyze electrical fault events, power quality issues, system loading scenarios and assist with implementing corrective actions.
Schedule and attend field walk-downs with our customers to better understand and determine project requirements.
Create system model for large-scale power system and perform various power system analysis/studies.
Perform field take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation.
Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications
BS degree, Electrical Engineering, from an accredited university. Power systems coursework preferred.
Zero-two (0-2) years’ related work experience. Internship experience desired.
Familiar with power system analysis, distribution system modeling, and protective device coordination preferred.
Coursework or experience with engineering software (such as ETAP, SKM, or similar).
Be a Team Player with excellent oral and written communication skills.
Other Requirements
You must be a US citizen.
You will be required to obtain Military Base Access Security Clearance.
Valid Driver’s License required.

Salary range: $55,000-$75,000 based on experience plus eligible for participation in Short Term Incentive Plan.
