Overview

Field Service Technician (Open) – Milwaukee, WI. Install and service on-site nitrogen generation plants and bulk cryogenic gas systems in accordance with federal, state/provincial and local codes and Airgas policies. This role involves travel to customer sites and Airgas facilities to perform installations, maintenance and repairs of cryogenic equipment and related systems. Responsibilities

Install and maintain nitrogen on-site generation equipment and cryogenic bulk installations at Airgas facilities and customer sites. Repair pressure reduction equipment and analyze/repair electrical systems related to N2 generation and cryogenic installations (motor controls, relays, alarms). Install decals, warning signs and safety identifiers; perform piping installations per company SOPs. Conduct site surveys to ensure compliance with all codes; ensure security measures are in place to protect installations. Perform periodic preventative maintenance and annual inspections on bulk installation sites; maintain appropriate stock of commonly required parts. Adhere to safety policies and procedures; work with minimal supervision and manage multiple tasks or priorities as needed. Other duties as assigned within the scope of the role. Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. HVAC or refrigeration certification or ASSE Medical Gas credentials are a plus. Certified Brazer certification required within 30 days of employment; must have or obtain a valid driver’s license. Minimum of two (2) years of industrial field service experience, preferably with gas generation systems; prior electrical experience is a plus. Knowledge of NFPA 99 and NFPA 55 requirements; understanding of cryogenic and high-pressure gas hazards; knowledge of cryogenic products, containers and piping systems. Hands-on experience with cryogenic equipment, pressure piping, compressors; ability to troubleshoot system problems; welding/brazing experience (silver brazing) is a plus. Ability to read blueprints, design specifications, manufacturer drawings and related installation documents; ability to interpret MSDS and maintenance instructions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Strong communication skills; ability to work independently and meet deadlines; capable of handling emergencies (24-hour readiness). Physically able to move/transport materials (25–75 lbs); climb stairs/ladders; occasional overtime; travel within 2 hours of home (90%), plus occasional overnight travel. Work Environment & Physical Demands

Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions and temperatures; noise levels range from moderate to high. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock; required to wear appropriate safety gear. Frequent local travel; service truck provided after initial training; some overnight travel may be required. Benefits & Diversity
