Job Description
Overview The
Process Improvement/Industrial Engineer
is responsible for promoting and facilitating the successful implementation and sustainment of the Envista Business System in Romulus with a focus on Operations along with supporting commercial activities.
Responsibilities
Drive targeted, sustainable improvement that is tied to Policy Deployment (PD) and Daily Management (DM) by leveraging EBS (Envista Business System)/Lean tools, consulting skills, and change management processes.
Facilitate process optimization across departments by analyzing workflows and designing/developing new processes through coordinating continuous improvement initiatives with applicable department representatives.
Assist leadership in developing a Growth and Operations improvement roadmap (i.e., how to use EBS/Lean tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).
Cultivate a continuous improvement culture by committing to elimination of waste through planning and leading kaizen/continuous improvement events.
Assist in deployment and sustainment of EBS Tools for Growth.
Contribute to site-level policy deployment through coordination of root cause countermeasures prior to meetings.
Assist site/company leadership in development and execution of the EBS Roadmap (i.e., how to use EBS tools to drive sustainable improvement in results).
Plan and run various levels of Kaizen events for the site.
Provide formal and informal EBS training and coaching to employees; facilitate other EBS training sessions when appropriate (e.g., with other trainers and consultants).
Regularly participate in PD and Daily Management reviews.
Pursue Certified Practitioner certification in appropriate EBS tools.
Promote and facilitate associate development in EBS tools.
Benchmark and incorporate best practices.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, OR equivalent experience OR other technical degree.
5+ years of relevant experience in a similar position (e.g., Industrial Engineer, Lean Promotions Officer, Value Stream Manager, Process Improvement Leader).
Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week.
Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated proficiency applying lean principles in a variety of situations.
Strong understanding of manufacturing and shipping general processes.
Ability to implement lean and continuous improvement initiatives.
Hands-on and detail-oriented but also able to see the big picture.
Ability to analyze business processes and present best-fit solutions to management for continuous improvement.
Change agent for EBS culture, coach leaders to facilitate and lead kaizens.
Collaborative and teamwork-oriented approach to problem solving.
Able to think strategically and view the business from a general management standpoint.
Customer-focused with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Quick study who can rapidly adapt to Envista’s culture and gain the confidence of the organization.
High energy and able to handle conflict.
Independent worker capable of operating in a fast-moving, ever-changing environment and able to effectively deal with difficult situations.
Excellent project management skills.
Proficient in EBS or equivalent lean environment (TPS/Six Sigma), including Kaizen design and facilitation, Policy Deployment usage, and Fundamental EBS tools.
