NR Consulting is seeking a highly motivated Controls Engineer for an onsite opportunity in Decatur, IL – Onsite

Location:

Decatur, IL – Onsite

Anticipated Start Date:

Salary Range:

$80k - $120k/annum plus benefits

Job Description:

We’re seeking a

Robotics Automation Controls Engineer

to lead the design, programming, and implementation of advanced robotic and automation systems. This role offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge technologies, drive process improvements, and support the next generation of intelligent manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

Serve as the

technical lead

for the design, programming, and deployment of robotic automation systems.

Develop, debug, and optimize

control logic for robotics and automation equipment.

Provide engineering input for

instrumentation, safety controls, and HMI enhancements .

Collaborate cross-functionally

with manufacturing, maintenance, and IT teams to deliver reliable and efficient automation solutions.

Ensure all systems and processes comply with company and industry standards.

Champion innovation

by integrating emerging technologies into existing production systems.

Robotics Expertise:

Proven experience with

Fanuc Robotics

— programming, design, and system integration.

Automation & Controls:

Strong understanding of industrial automation systems to enhance productivity and reliability.

Analytical Problem-Solving:

Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, and software issues.

Team Collaboration:

Effective communicator and contributor across multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in

Electrical, Mechanical, or Controls Engineering

(or related field).

Experience in

heavy industrial or manufacturing environments .

Familiarity with

SCADA systems

such as FactoryTalk or Ignition.

Strong

safety-first mindset

in all aspects of automation and robotics design.
