Overview

This position requires a skilled engineer capable of working semi-independently to design, analyze, test, and refine complex systems while collaborating with cross-functional teams across product development, manufacturing, and quality. Preferred to have an understanding of API quality and design requirements, specifically as it relates to API-14A for Subsurface Safety Valves and associated equipment. This position requires an understanding of pressure vessel design, combined load calculations, temperature and downhole environmental effects on product material selections. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Tejas Research & Engineering’s Employee Handbook, Quality Management System and Safety Management System policies and applicable workplace policies. Responsibilities

Actively participate in the company’s Safety, Quality and Confidentiality policies. Work to assist with project management and prioritization activities as required, to ensure timely delivery May be responsible for leading design and development reviews as required (Detailed Design Reviews, Pre-Production Meetings) Ensure engineering documentation is being adequately produced and managed as part of the product deliverable process (Functional Specifications, Design Review Meeting Minutes, etc.) Create solid model geometry, designs, and assemblies to meet company and client specifications Create and manage design calculations books for product development and sustaining activities. Maintain current bills of material for assemblies during the manufacturing process Actively participate in equipment assembly and disassembly operations, inspection and documentation activities, and testing set-up, rig-down and test monitoring activities Other duties as assigned Qualifications

Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) and 2D drawing tools. Knowledge of GD&T, BOM management, and engineering change control (VECN). Experience with manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerancing principles. Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to collaborate across teams, manage multiple projects, and adhere to safety, quality, and engineering best practices. Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree or better in Mechanical Engineering 3–5 years of engineering experience in design, manufacturing, or product development. Proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD). Strong knowledge of engineering change control, BOM management, and manufacturing processes. Excellent communication, and documentation skills Seniority level
