Overview
We are looking for an Associate Graduate Underwriter for our Property Team. This will be a hybrid role based in Alpharetta, Georgia. Allianz Commercial (AzC) specializes in corporate property insurance for complex risk exposures across more than 200 countries and territories. We focus on larger international risk portfolios, offering tailor-made 'All Risks' property damage and business interruption insurance through our Allianz Commercial Property network. Our team insures major Allianz Commercial property programs and collaborates with risk consultants and claims specialists worldwide. When underwriting insurance products for sports venues, sports/entertainment facilities, major airlines, retail/wholesale companies, banks and manufacturers, we cover a wide range of clients and risks. The Impact You Will Have
As an Associate Graduate Underwriter at Allianz, you’ll contribute to our underwriting process and support top and bottom-line targets. You’ll help maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients while ensuring compliance with underwriting standards. Your work will support business growth through new client acquisition and existing client retention. Responsibilities
Underwriting new and renewal accounts within your predefined authority Participating in the acquisition of new business and retention of existing clients Preparing relevant underwriting information through client/market research and claims data Assisting in risk pricing using global tools and evaluating Natural Catastrophe Accumulation Ensuring underwriting compliance with governance frameworks and achieving contract certainty Establishing and maintaining accurate policy files and documentation Supporting administration of International Insurance Programs Managing policy premium bookings and working with other functions to resolve account queries Representing Allianz positively in the market and developing relationships with key stakeholders Collaborating with internal functional areas in the underwriting process Learning about/collaborating with other Lines of Business and functions within Allianz Participating in projects to enhance teamwork and deepen knowledge of Allianz, pertinent risk topics and the insurance industry Travel to and work in other Allianz offices as applicable What You'll Bring To The Role
Bachelor's degree preferably in Economics, Law, or other appropriate discipline Minimum 1-3 years of experience with basic understanding of insurance products and portfolio Progress towards professional insurance qualification (e.g., CII) Basic understanding of regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscape Strong communication and influencing skills Analytical ability to process information and draw appropriate conclusions Experience building relationships with brokers at peer group level Fluency in local language Ability to work effectively in a complex, global matrix organization Customer focus and results orientation Entrepreneurial mindset and strategic thinking A basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business Compensation and Benefits
This job pays a salary of $72,000 per year. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. Actual salary will depend on scope, complexity, location, and the candidate's skills and experience. Base pay is part of the AzC total compensation package, which also includes annual performance-based cash incentive awards and benefits.
