VMFH seeks a highly motivated professional to oversee and evaluate the comprehensive Infection Prevention/Control program, with a focus on minimizing healthcare-associated infections and maintaining a safe environment for patients, employees, and visitors. Responsibilities

Program Oversight: Oversee and evaluate the comprehensive Infection Prevention/Control program for the assigned VMFH facility/function. Risk Assessment & Reduction: Conduct risk assessments and implement risk reduction strategies for infectious disease transmission, construction/renovation projects, water/air events, and other hazards. Surveillance & Analysis: Conduct hospital-acquired infection surveillance, monitor significant organisms (including emerging pathogens), analyze trends and risk factors, and develop targeted prevention and control tactics. Environment of Care: Conduct environment of care surveillance to ensure a safe and clean healthcare environment. Education & Training: Develop and deliver engaging education and training programs on infection prevention best practices for staff, volunteers, students, and visitors. Reporting & Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely notifiable disease reporting for inpatients and maintain compliance with applicable regulations and guidelines. Collaboration & Communication: Collaborate with managers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to implement proactive preventative and corrective action plans. Strategic Planning: Develop an annual risk assessment for the facility/function, prioritize risks, evaluate past performance, and set measurable goals. Change Management: Promote the adoption of EMR technologies and support transitions to new healthcare delivery systems. Committee Participation: Actively participate in relevant internal/external committees and work groups to advance infection prevention initiatives. Qualifications

Education/Work Experience Bachelor’s degree in nursing, public health, epidemiology, medical technology, or related healthcare field, and five years of related healthcare experience demonstrating relevant knowledge/abilities. OR graduation from an accredited school of nursing, and five years of related healthcare experience. Master’s degree in a related discipline may be substituted for two years of the experience requirement. Licensure/Certification Depending on qualifying degree: Nursing license in state or national registrations as applicable. Certification in Infection Control (CBIC). Other relevant certifications as listed by the employer (e.g., Healthcare Sterile Processing, CRST, etc.). Where You'll Work

$52.15 - $77.58 /hour
