The Director of Logistics Optimization is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s logistics strategy across all facilities and distribution channels. This role requires strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of logistics operations. The ideal candidate will leverage data-driven insights to reduce costs, enhance service levels, and streamline shipping operations across multiple sites. Key Responsibilities
Analyze freight spend to identify cost reduction and consolidation opportunities. Design efficient routing and pooling strategies across LTL, FTL, and regional carriers. Negotiate carrier contracts and enforce performance scorecards. Drive carrier compliance, cost control, and damage reduction using existing TMS data. Partner with Operations and Customer Service to balance delivery commitments and cost. Present savings results and strategic insights to executive leadership. Qualifications
8–10+ years in logistics, transportation strategy, or freight management. Proven track record of multi-million-dollar freight savings. Deep knowledge of LTL/FTL markets, pricing models, and carrier operations. Strong analytical and negotiation skills; proficiency in Excel and Power BI required. Hands-on and relentless — thrives on driving measurable improvement. Willingness to travel as needed to carrier sites and manufacturing facilities. Seniority level
