Manager, Pricing and Solutions Analytics
Position Summary The Pricing and Solutions Analytics Manager is responsible for driving data-driven decision-making across pricing and solution design functions. This role combines analytical expertise with strategic thinking to optimize pricing models, evaluate solution performance, and support commercial growth initiatives. The manager will work closely with Sales, Solution Design, and Direct Pricing teams to ensure competitive, margin-protected proposals and operational feasibility.
Core Responsibilities & Duties
Pricing Strategy & Analysis
Develop and maintain pricing models for domestic and international freight forwarding.
Analyze bid data to identify trends, margin opportunities, and competitive positioning.
Support tariff updates (e.g., OMNI 7L Blanket, Czarlite, Legacy Tariff) and ensure alignment with market conditions.
Solution Performance
Evaluate proposed solutions for cost efficiency, transit compliance, and coverage optimization.
Provide analytics to support decisions on Forward Air network utilization vs. vetted agent sourcing.
Commercial Support
Partner with Sales and Solution Design during bid cycles to provide data insights and scenario modeling.
Create dashboards and reports for leadership on pricing performance, win/loss analysis, and profitability.
Process Improvement
Identify automation opportunities in pricing workflows and solution assembly.
Implement tools and best practices to enhance speed and accuracy in bid responses.
Governance
Conduct post-mortem analysis on large bids to inform future strategies.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Data Analytics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in pricing, analytics, or solution design within transportation or logistics.
Strong proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL).
Knowledge of freight forwarding, LTL, and multi-modal transportation networks.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
