$55,000 - $60,000 . This position is open until filled. Posting will remain open until a suitable pool of candidates is identified. This position is subject to the successful completion of a criminal background check and may also be subject to an education verification. LC State is an EEO/VETS employer. Responsibilities

Campus Public Safety and Reporting: Assist with the development, planning, and implementation of the College's overall campus security operations. Assist with the development and maintenance of the Security Operations Policies and Procedures Manual. Conduct Public Safety Officer performance evaluations. Communicate the security needs of different departments and areas of campus to the Director. Review Incident Reports and Daily Officer Logs for follow up, accuracy, and detail. Maintain an accurate list of uniforms and equipment issued to officers. Notify the Director whenever equipment and/or uniforms need to be repaired or purchased. Respond to Officer's grievances and complaints. Organize and lead officers during special event operations. Make hiring recommendations for part-time and full-time Security Officer position openings. Assist with the administration of the officer training program. Collaborate with the Director in the Field Training Officer Program for new officers and perform remedial training for current officers when necessary. Schedule classes and instructors for monthly and annual training sessions. Track and maintain a database of training received by officers. Ensure officers stay current on required certifications including (but not limited to) First Aid/CPR/AED, Defensive Tactics, Verbal Communications, Hazardous Materials, etc. Assist with parking enforcement, investigating security incidents, and maintain the shift schedule for all full time, part time, and IH officers. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with students, faculty, staff and administration. Collaborate and communicate with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies. Maintain knowledge and familiarity with federal and state laws applicable to campus safety operations, including FERPA, the Clery Act compliance requirements, Title IX, and VAWA. Management of the campus key control system including physical and electronic keys. Assist with the overall management of the campus parking program including issuing parking permits, enforcing parking rules, collecting citation revenue, and maintaining parking lots. Work with student groups and student organizations to educate and promote a campus culture of safety and well-being. Attend and provide assistance at campus community events as needed. Assist law-enforcement agencies with matters relating to LC State students, staff, and/or faculty. Attend campus meetings such as the Behavioral Response Team in the Director's absence. Coordinate and serve in an advisory role for the Parking Citation Appeals Committee. Patrol: Perform patrols of campus on foot and/or in patrol vehicles and be a visible presence in the community. Act as a security presence for campus events, as needed; write reports for calls for service; collaborate with officers and campus staff during initial investigations on campus. Respond to calls for service ranging from lockouts to emergencies. Emergency Preparedness and Planning: Collaborate and communicate with local, state, and federal law enforcement and emergency response agencies as needed. Assist the Director with emergency response procedures (fire prevention, crisis intervention, active threat assessment and response, special event security, investigation of incidents, and use of cameras and access systems). Actively serve in the Emergency Operations Center and liaise with outside emergency response agencies during emergencies in the Director's absence. Title IX: Assist with Title IX and VAWA compliance and support investigations and programming as needed. Administration: Partner with offices across campus to ensure safe and successful outcomes, implement comprehensive emergency safety training, and support recruitment and retention activities. Serve on college committees and provide backup for the Director as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Required Qualifications Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint). Three years professional work experience in law enforcement, safety, security, social work, psychology or related field. Supervisory experience. Preferred Qualifications A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. A degree in criminal justice, public administration, management, social work, or related area and experience in law enforcement, campus safety, is preferred. An understanding of the coordination of campus safety and student development at a rural, residential, liberal arts college is preferred. Title IX and Clery Act experience. Current First Aid/CPR/AED certification. Good knowledge of self-defense measures, First Aid/CPR/AED, security problems and safety hazards as they relate to a college or university setting with a large complex of buildings and grounds, students, staff, faculty, and community members. Experience performing investigations incidental to security activities and completing investigative reports. Application procedure
