Apex Systems is seeking a Data Architect who is motivated by variety, and is interested in supporting large information technology projects. This position is located in Newark, NJ. Ideal candidate must be local to the area and able to go into the office periodically when needed. If not local, must be willing to travel onsite as needed. The Data Architect will design and manage the organization's data infrastructure, creating blueprints for how data is collected, stored, and integrated to meet business goals. They will work with data engineers, analysts, business leaders, and compliance teams to align data strategy with business objectives and ensure successful implementation. Responsibilities
Work with business SMEs to understand analytical and reporting requirements Translate business and reporting needs into conceptual, logical, and physical data models Define data standards, relationships, and data pipeline transformation requirements for data engineering implementation Design and implement Redshift data models, including tables, views/materialized views to ensure optimal performance and scalability Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in related field with 8+ years of experience as a data engineer. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience in transformation of business requirements into optimal data models. Ideally experience working with customer analytics. Expertise in dimensional modeling (Star and Snowflake schemas) Experience with AWS Redshift and performance optimization Knowledge of AWS Glue, Redshift, Step Functions for data architecture Familiar with AWS DataZone for data lineage and governance Self-driven and able to work independently with minimum guidance Demonstrated multitasking ability, problem solving skills and a consistent record of on time delivery and customer service Excellent organizational and communication skills Previous Utilities experience preferred AWS Certified Solutions Architect desired AWS Certified Data Engineer desired EEO and Company Information
