This position is located in Norton, KS.
Responsibilities
Oversees and manages the medical nursing services for the residential treatment facility, including 24-hour professional nursing services, medical case management, inpatient medical care, and nursing orientation and training.
Directly supervises the Assistant Nursing Director and all nursing staff; provides routine performance feedback, ongoing leadership, and mentoring in support of staff development.
Ensures proper and adequate treatment during emergencies by nursing staff, and that established policies and procedures for medical emergencies are consistently followed.
Participates in facility performance improvement activities and leads efforts specific to medical nursing services and improving nursing care quality; collaborates with facility management to identify and implement improvement activities across the facility.
Oversees and manages the security, control, and administration of drugs, medications, treatments, and tests as allowed by law.
Maintains patient confidentiality and ensures nursing staff adheres to policies and procedures regarding patient information protection and HIPAA.
Oversees and manages all medical nursing tasks to maintain compliance with Joint Commission and other regulatory bodies.
Leads efforts to build the skills and competencies of the nursing staff to meet minimum requirements as specified by nursing practice standards, external accrediting agency guidelines, and internal organizational guidelines.
Ensures effective communication between the medical department and other clinical and support-service departments.
Manages the facility’s medical nursing services annual budget to achieve financial goals; communicates areas of concern to the Program Director and/or Business Manager as appropriate.
Qualifications
Licensed as a Registered Nurse to practice in the state of employment.
Six (6) or more years of clinical nursing care experience.
Six (6) or more years of progressive work and relevant industry experience.
Four (4) or more years of supervisory and/or management experience.
Experience with healthcare accreditation; preference within the substance use disorder treatment industry.
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Certified Addictions Registered Nurse (CARN) is preferred.
