Earthlite
Overview
As the Sustaining Engineer, you will play a key role in maintaining, improving, and standardizing the engineering foundation of our premium spa and wellness equipment brands—Earthlite and Living Earth Crafts. This role is focused on supporting existing product lines through accurate engineering documentation, process improvement, and cross-functional problem solving across manufacturing departments.
You will ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs), drawings, and specifications are accurate, consistent, and aligned with our high standards of craftsmanship and quality. Working hands-on with teams in our woodshop (CNC machining), upholstery, sewing, and assembly departments, you will identify design corrections, implement cost-saving improvements, and sustain the performance, safety, and manufacturability of our products.
Key Responsibilities
Document engineering changes (ECO/ECR) and manage revisions systematically including updating design files and models
Identify redundant or obsolete parts, ensuring correct part numbers, units of measure, and revision history
Implement standardization of components and product builds where applicable to simplify manufacturing processes and reduce errors
Update and maintain engineering drawings and models, routings, and work instructions
Ensure documents reflect current manufacturing practices in woodshop, upholstery, sewing, and assembly
Collaborate with design engineering, production, quality, and supply chain teams to resolve technical issues
Provide engineering support to manufacturing when discrepancies, errors, or inefficiencies arise
Recommend and implement design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) improvements
Serve as the technical bridge between design engineering and manufacturing teams
Support compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards
Support cost reduction initiatives by identifying material, process, or component alternatives
Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities for product or process issues
Support legacy products to ensure quality, serviceability, and manufacturability over time
Review, correct, and standardize existing BOMs for accuracy and consistency across product families and ensure tech knowledge transfer to related teams
Partner with operations to transition products smoothly through updates or phase-outs
