The Hargrove Recruiting Team is looking for talented Structural Engineers to join our team in Kingsport, Tennessee. This role is ideal for someone with experience with AISC, ACI, steel structures such as pipe racks and process structures, concrete foundations, and concrete structures. This position is a full-time, long-term opportunity as part of Hargrove\'s Technical Services team providing a "+One Team" culture. The role offers a competitive compensation package, including paid time off, health insurance benefits, and matching retirement contributions. Relocation support may be available for those who qualify. Primary Responsibilities Will Include But Not Be Limited To Familiarity with and utilizing department design and drafting standards. Familiarity with project scope, specifications and design criteria upon assignment to a project task team. Developing conceptual layouts and cost studies to determine the simplest, most efficient approach to solving engineering tasks. Producing estimate-level preliminary designs and material take-offs suitable for the level of the estimate. Producing detail design calculations and sketches for materials of construction; organized for checking and use by drafters/designers. Producing designs with efficient use of construction materials and ensuring the final product meets client expectations. Checking calculations to ensure accuracy, code conformance, and design criteria. Assisting the drafting group in resolving routine layout and detailing problems and furnishing sufficient sketches and details for engineering drawings. Consulting with design leaders from other disciplines to ensure smooth information flow for scheduled completion. Advising the senior engineer on design or scope changes identified. Assisting engineers in developing scopes, drawings and specifications into a package for procurement or subcontract pricing. Reviewing and checking vendor drawings and other discipline drawings for civil/structural input. Developing construction specifications and reviewing fabrication drawings and submittals for conformance. Performing fieldwork to gather data, check tie-ins, and provide construction support. Providing technical guidance to less experienced staff in the department. Ability to lead small to large teams in coordinating civil/structural efforts and maintain focus on scope, schedule and budget. Ability to identify and develop work-sharing packages for interoffice execution and provide leadership for communication and execution of work within scope, schedule and budget. Estimating and scheduling professional service hours and assessing progress and quality of civil/structural work. Ideal Background
Education:
Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required. Structural coursework is required for structural engineering positions. Registration:
Professional Engineering registration is highly preferred. Experience:
This position requires 6+ years of relevant industrial experience in civil/structural engineering. Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge and application of the International Building Code and associated standards (ASCE, AISC, ACI, etc.). Expertise with civil/structural analysis software and interpretation of results. Knowledge of methods to engineer, design and construct process and manufacturing projects. Ability to lead a small to large team to deliver on commitments. Ability to deliver convincing presentations of Hargrove\'s services. Working knowledge of CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or both). Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Virtual team skills and cross-divisional relationships; capable of interoffice execution leadership and support. Physical Requirements
