Anesthesia Technician I - Full-time - OR-L&D-Endoscopy - Evenings at Tufts Medicine. This role supports operating rooms with anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment in preparation for anesthesia in surgical, obstetric, and diagnostic anesthesia suites. Responsible for cleaning and maintenance of all anesthesia equipment as well as ordering, stocking, distributing, and maintaining inventory of anesthesia supplies. Location and Hours

Lowell General Hospital - 295 Varnum Avenue, Lowell, MA Hours: 40 Hours - Evenings: 3:00pm - 11:30pm Responsibilities

Assist anesthesiologists and/or nursing staff with direct patient care duties including assisting with patient transfers, preparation of patient equipment, intubations, regional anesthesia and placement of invasive monitors. Change soda-lime containers according to specific guidelines. Set up IV solutions, arterial lines and equipment for anesthesiologists’ use. Order daily anesthesia supplies from the storeroom and Pharmacy; order special equipment and replace when needed. Report to the Operating Room any malfunctions of equipment; maintain service records and testing results for OR/PACU equipment and gas levels. Check operational activity of battery-run equipment in anesthesia. Conduct weekly inventory to maintain supplies at established levels and prepare orders for appropriate departments. Participate in infection control through regular cleaning of anesthesia equipment and perform housekeeping duties to keep the anesthesia workroom neat and orderly. Clean and maintain inhalation equipment, breathing circuits, connecting tubes and adapters. Assist secretary with clerical duties at control desk and maintain Anesthesia and Operating Room Library/catalog. Conduct routine checks of emergency carts and anesthesia carts; supply carts with scopes, endotracheal equipment and other items as indicated. Check inventory against established listings, pull outdated drugs or equipment, replace illegible labels, and note actions taken for Manager review. Set up and calibrate invasive monitor transducers. Operate Glucometer when necessary. Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Basic Life Support Certification. Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s degree. Emergency Medical Technician Certification. One (1) year of related experience in Surgical Services, Operating Room, or PACU. Pay and Benefits
