Database Administrator with Security Clearance
CODEplus is seeking a Database Administrator in Merrifield, VA. Skills and Responsibilities: Design and implement data solutions to meet system requirements for data integrity, security, efficiency, maintainability, interoperability and extensibility. Analyze and model system data requirements and produce a logically normalized database schema balancing conflicting requirements. Work with Sysadmin to produce and implement the physical design of the database, placement, multiplexing, and partitioning. Serve as the data solution expert to advise the development team through the entire life cycle of system development. Advise the development team on solutions for complicated access paths / queries, primary key, foreign key, unique key relationships, views, and materialized views. Install, configure, and upgrade database software and systems; perform routine maintenance tasks. System capacity planning; proactively monitor and anticipate growth and provide recommendations on system resource procurement. Performance analysis and optimization; identify issues and provide recommendations to resolve performance problems. Troubleshoot system issues with the sysadmin, network admin, and development team to identify and locate issues properly. Design and implement data loading, import/export, and transformation processes. Design and implement high availability solutions with RAC and Data Guard. Design and implement recovery solutions with RMAN; design, implement, and test backup and recovery solutions for data protection and disaster recovery. Implement and maintain security controls, manage user permissions, and protect sensitive data from unauthorized access. Communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including users, developers, and management. Typically reports to the team lead of the development group. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in area of specialty 5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area Additional Requirements: Must be familiar with relational database analysis and design Must be familiar with relational normalization / denormalization for high performance systems Must be familiar with index tuning / analysis Must be familiar with Oracle RDBMS 19c Must be familiar with SQL DML/DDL Experienced in RDBMS performance analysis and optimization, SGA/PGA, REDO/UNDO, partitioning Experienced in OLTP / OLAP system tuning Experienced in ad-hoc reporting Experienced in DTL / DLT data loading, import/export Familiar with query troubleshooting, execution plan analysis and optimization Familiar with system capacity planning Ability to demonstrate current work is a plus A public trust is required.
