Essential Functions
Develop category-specific procurement strategies in close collaboration with senior stakeholders globally – partner with business leaders across the commercial organization to define and execute category strategies that enable business priorities and deliver measurable impact. Translate insights into strategic action – combine market intelligence, supplier performance data, and business input to guide decisions and strengthen long-term planning within your category. Foster strong, forward-looking partnerships – build and maintain collaborative relationships with key suppliers, creating a foundation for innovation, agility, and continuous improvement. Drive supplier performance and development – lead regular business reviews and performance dialogues to ensure alignment, transparency, and accountability across supplier relationships. Enable innovation and improvement – work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities for smarter solutions, process simplification, and digital enablement. Ensure excellence in execution – lead the end-to-end sourcing process from strategy through contracting and implementation, ensuring compliance and high-quality delivery. Manage risk proactively – anticipate and mitigate supply, compliance, and operational risks within your category. Contribute to Procurement’s broader agenda – support continuous improvement across processes, tools, and ways of working, helping shape a modern, insight-driven Procurement function. Required Education, Experience and Skills
Accredited bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years in procurement, or relevant commercial or operational roles. Demonstrated experience with category management and proven track record of developing and executing category strategies in global organizations. A strategic mindset and the ability to translate business priorities into actionable category plans. Proven experience in stakeholder engagement and business partnering, with the confidence to influence and align across functions and geographies. Strong ability to build and manage supplier relationships, fostering trust, innovation, and long-term collaboration. Analytical strength and structured problem-solving skills, enabling you to connect insights, risks, and opportunities effectively. A proactive and solution-oriented mindset, thriving in a dynamic environment where priorities evolve. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to navigate complex organizational landscapes with empathy and clarity. Preferred Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum of 5 years in procurement, or relevant commercial or operational roles, ideally within Marketing or Commercial operations categories. Exposure to indirect spend categories and category management frameworks. Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., pharma, healthcare, manufacturing). Familiarity with procurement systems and digital sourcing tools. Experience in supplier governance or contract management is a plus. Comfortable operating in a matrix environment and across geographies. Strategic insight with strong execution and collaboration skills. Experience developing and executing category strategies across the commercial services, including but not limited to: Creative & Media, Market Research and Data Insights, Pricing & Market Access, Patient Support Program, Medical Communication, Sales Operations. Travel
Willingness and ability to travel internationally up to 10% of the time. The salary range shown is for potential hires in the state of Illinois and may vary based on qualifications, skills, and proficiency. Salary Pay Range: $130,000 - $150,000 with eligibility for a 15% bonus target. Benefits include flexible PTO, medical/dental/vision, and 401k with company match.
