Overview
HBITS 07-14359 Systems Architect - Expert The consultant will continue building NYSIF Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), consolidating/retiring multiple legacy Data Marts to establish a single source of truth, increase BI team efficiency, and reduce maintenance costs. The role includes creating a dashboard to facilitate claims/underwriting predictions, operationalizing prediction models from data scientists, implementing a data lake, and integrating financial transactions, cash flows, external auditors’ requests, and accounting reporting into the NYSIF EDW. The consultant will assist in evaluating, recommending, and implementing AI solutions, knowledge graphs, data governance, and data management solutions.
Day-to-Day Tasks
Provide recommendations, guidance, and actual implementation for new data marts, and improve/consolidate existing Data Marts.
Participate in DW/BI projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Establish written best practices, procedures, and guidance on DW/DM data model design.
Create and maintain up-to-date documentation for all supported DW/DM and ETL processes.
Plan, modify, maintain, test, and implement code for:
Source system extraction processes for the Data Warehouse
ETL processes
BI dashboards and reports (R, Python)
Develop and maintain Spotfire systems (including prediction models in R, TERR, and automation services)
Automation of source system data extraction and data loading into the Data Warehouse
Operationalize prediction models
Adhere to NYSIF’s application development standards, including project management methodology, SDLC, Enterprise Architecture standards, and IT governance.
Support the BI Data Warehouse using TIBCO Spotfire and Information Builders Data Migrator.
Mandatory Qualifications Systems Architect:
Defines the architecture of a computerized system (software and hardware) to fulfill requirements, including components, interactions, interfaces (including with users), and the technologies and resources used in the design.
Expert:
84+ months: candidate can provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of the field.
Requested Qualifications
84 months Data Modeling experience in designing underwriting, claims DataMarts, and Data Warehouse in the Insurance industry (Workers’ Compensation and disability).
84 months experience with developing/maintaining predictive systems written in R or Python using TIBCO Spotfire/TERR.
84 months experience with TIBCO Spotfire Analyst, Web Player, and Business Authors, using IronPython, R, and JavaScript.
84 months experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining end-to-end ETL data pipelines (Information Builder International “IBI” Data Migrator aka TIBCO Data Migrator).
84 months experience in Oracle PL/SQL development, including triggers, stored procedures, packages, and advanced query optimization, database design and implementation.
84 months experience in Agile/scrum project management methodology.
84 months experience in automated testing, build and deployment tools (TFS, PowerShell, Visual Build Pro).
84 months experience with development tools such as VS Code, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Git, Azure, and TFS.
84 months experience developing systems in workers’ compensation, insurance for WC, DBL, PFL accounting and financial reporting using western and eastern methods.
Bachelor’s Degree.
