Responsibilities Provide psychological services to hospitalized and non-hospitalized patients at Shepherd Center, including assessment, evaluation, treatment planning and intervention, consultation, education, and feedback. Report directly to Psychology Department Supervisors and participate as an active member of the Psychology Department and Shepherd Center committees and mission. Complete initial assessments of newly admitted patients within 72 hours of admission. Complete documentation and billing in the EHR on day of service; provide timely progress notes and updated goals in medical records. Demonstrate knowledge in psychology competency areas appropriate to the patient population and setting; educate interdisciplinary staff on psychosocial, cognitive, emotional, and behavioral issues related to injury/illness. Provide training for new staff psychologists, students, and trainees; provide timely consultation and communication of recommendations for biopsychosocial and behavioral issues identified by the treatment team. Understand and respect scope of practice; seek appropriate consultations when needed. Follow departmental procedures for time off, conference attendance, daily attendance, and related policies; maintain continuing education and licensure per state and board requirements. Additional Job Responsibilities Evaluate patients’ cognitive status, emotional functioning, and psychological history according to departmental standards and peer review. Formulate individualized treatment plans and documented goals; participate in team conferences with progress reports and feedback to address issues from the treatment team. Provide team leadership to support effective functioning and resolve conflicts or issues impairing team performance. Identify diverse patient needs (e.g., age range, multicultural considerations) reflected in treatment plans. Provide culturally competent supervision and consultation as appropriate. Education and Certification Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology; APA/CPA-approved doctoral program in Clinical or Counseling Psychology. Completion of an APA/CPA-approved Internship in Clinical Psychology (rehabilitation, neuropsychology, or health). One- or two-year supervised post-doctoral fellowship or five+ years of licensed clinical experience. ABPP Board certification in Rehabilitation, Neuropsychology, Clinical, or Health Psychology, or eligibility for ABPP certification. Fully licensed or license-eligible in the state of Georgia. BLS Certification required. Experience and Skills APA/CPA-approved Internship in Clinical Psychology and post-doctoral fellowship in Rehabilitation, Neuropsychology, or Health Psychology or equivalent licensed experience. Clinical expertise in Neurorehabilitation Psychology, and knowledge of legal aspects, intervention, and assessment. Ability to complete orientation and initial competency assessments by due date; complete mandatory education and annual competency assessments. Preferred Qualifications ABPP-CN or ABPP-RP credential. Physical Demands Basic office physical demands; mostly sedentary with potential for modest walking/standing and light lifting as needed. Working Conditions Potential exposure to blood and body fluids in a clinical setting.
