Position Summary Advance Community Health is actively looking for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about patient care and committed to clinical excellence. The PMHNP is responsible for providing psychotherapy, treatment planning, behavioral evaluation, medication evaluation and management to a range of clients with mental illness, mental retardation, and substance abuse disorders under the supervision of a consulting psychiatrist(s). Conducts therapy, medication assessments and crisis response to new and existing clients. Develops individual service plans based upon assessment data and provides therapeutic interventions as necessary including the provision of ongoing medication management services. Provides consultation and health education to agency staff, caregivers, and clients as it relates to treatment and medication needs of the patient. Maintains documentation of services including service plans, progress notes, medication informed consent, quarterly treatment plan reviews and other required information in compliance with organization and third-party standards. Receives medical supervision from psychiatrist consistent with applicable PPFNP (Protocol for Provision of Family Nurse Practitioner Services). Involves social work and ancillary staff appropriately. Communicates issues to supervising physician in a timely and appropriate manner. Communicates problems to Administration when needed. Participates in regularly scheduled provider meetings and committees. Maintains CME/credentialing/licensure in compliance with state and board requirements. Maintains patient confidentiality and responds appropriately to patient satisfaction concerns. Other Duties Assigned

Completes other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor consistent with the responsibilities of the position. Supervisory Responsibility

None Education and Experience

FNP/PMHNP/PA-C, licensed to practice in North Carolina. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Active DEA license Two to three years practicing as a NP/PA preferably in a community health environment. Two plus years experience psychiatric or addiction treatment NP experience preferred Strong interpersonal and communication skills Self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
