Overview
Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care is looking for a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Medical Assistant/X-Ray or Radiology Tech to join our dynamic healthcare team in Clarksville, TN. FT and PRN opportunities are available! Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care, with 18 locations in Tennessee, is an affiliate of Urgent Team, one of the largest independent operators of urgent and family care centers in the Southeast. The Urgent Team Family of Centers provides quality and affordable family healthcare at more than 80 locations under eight brands. The centers offer walk-in services with varying hours and are Accredited Care Centers – a designation recognizing commitment to safety, quality, and scope of services. The centers are open seven days a week: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Position summary: The Medical Assistant/X-Ray or Radiology Tech will greet patients, activate patient files, and provide support to patients and medical staff.
Responsibilities
Promptly greet patients entering waiting areas, exam rooms, and laboratory or x-ray rooms. Communicate wait times to patients and guide the next steps in the treatment process. Provide solutions to patient problems and recognize and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations. Provide timely follow up regarding lab and x-ray results; perform follow-up calls with urgency. Assist front desk personnel with patient check-in/out procedures when necessary. Obtain and document patient vital signs, weight, brief history, past medical, family and social history, current medications, allergies, and other pertinent information. Assist with patient transfers and procedures directly supervised by the provider. Assist in lab procedures under the supervision of the provider. Prepare patients for radiologic procedures and follow established clinical and regulatory procedures for patient safety, including radiation protection and shielding. Ensure equipment is in proper working order and report malfunctions to the Regional Operation Manager or provider on duty. Follow documentation procedures and complete required documentation related to patient visits. Maintain examination rooms and stock as needed. Adhere to infection control and patient confidentiality policies. Perform phlebotomy, injections, medical procedures, and laboratory procedures appropriate for level of training under the direction of a provider.
What's Required
High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant Medical Assistant Certificate or equivalent experience Valid State License to perform X-Rays BLS Certification required
