Overview
Physician - Psychiatry - Consult Liaison - Grosse Pointe Corewell Health's department of behavioral health is growing to add a BC/BE Adult Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist to Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. The Consult Liaison (CL) Psychiatrist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultation to medical/surgical units and the emergency department for patients with primary psychiatric conditions or psychiatric comorbidities. The CL Psychiatrist will evaluate, diagnose, and provide recommendations for patients on the respective services, and facilitate referrals for long-term treatment when needed for the diverse population served. This role includes resident and medical student education. The role is expected to be on site at one Corewell Health hospital and responsible for telehealth consults at multiple Corewell Health hospital locations and emergency departments. You will be an employed physician, with knowledgeable practice management professionals assisting in day-to-day operations and leveraging the resources and referral base of the larger Corewell Health East system. Corewell Health Southeast is Michigan’s largest not-for-profit health care system, comprising eight hospitals, 145 outpatient locations, nearly 5,000 physicians and more than 38,000 employees. It is affiliated with Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Wayne State University School of Medicine. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultation to medical/surgical units and the emergency department. Evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment recommendations for patients with primary psychiatric conditions or psychiatric comorbidities. Facilitate referrals for long-term treatment when needed and participate in resident and medical student education.
