Overview
Skunkworks Fabrication Manufacturing Engineer — Palmdale, CA. This role focuses on visionary manufacturing engineering for make and buy parts, materials management, and planning tracking to advance flight and technology capabilities. Responsibilities
Create and administer manufacturing plans for make and buy parts and materials masters, with planning tracking mechanisms. Collaborate with design engineering, systems engineering, planning, scheduling, quality assurance, and operations to support cross-functional manufacturing. Work with composite fabrication processes including layup, bond, and machining. Interpret engineering blueprints, process specifications, and manufacturing planning documentation. Utilize MRP/SAP or other Manufacturing Execution System (MES) applications to manage production and workflow. Support the full lifecycle of projects from conception to delivery, driving issues to closure and preventative actions to limit future failures. Coordinate with suppliers in an aircraft modification and manufacturing environment as needed. Qualifications
Basic Qualifications : Bachelor’s Degree; experience in a manufacturing shop floor environment; ability to work cross-functionally with disciplines such as design engineering, systems engineering, planning, scheduling, and quality assurance; security clearance with investigation within the last 5 years and ability to obtain/maintain program access. Desired Skills : STEM degree with 2+ years of work experience; understanding of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM); strong communication skills; ability to drive issues to closure; experience with suppliers in aircraft modification/manufacturing; experience with product/process changes and project lifecycle management.
